Thank you for trusting us and
enabling us to publish and distribute your treasured writings. Not everyone is able to do so. Yes, I've seen it countless times over the years—this typical scenario: You've researched the setting, you've crafted the language; you've perfected the length, tightened the plot, paced the dialogue; you've tested the accuracy and the verbage and polished it all up. You print up a few copies and proudly start to move to the next step.
Only, you run into "issues" instead of open arms. If you have written the
"typical" gay-themed article, short story, script, or book, you will often not be fortunate enough to find a willing publisher, at least not a traditional publisher. And, even if you are lucky (and persistently insistent) enough to finally find one, you will likely be asked to "tone down" the relationship elements of the piece . . . or to eliminate them altogether.
I've heard this request referred to as a "literary abortion," though literary murder is probably a more palatable term.
That is how we can help you—by providing an eager place where you can publish
your work and have it distributed to an accepting audience and by providing a platform where agents and publishers and screenwriters and others can come to find a rich assortment of gay-themed literary materials. No longer is your only option to pass a few copies around to some of your closest friends. No, now, you have a real option.
So, whenever you are ready for us, we are more than ready for you. The Gay Publishing Company has a surprisingly lenient and easy-to-follow set of guidelines for submission. Reviewing them and applying the guidelines as suggested are the only steps that remain between you and your work and publication.
Is it really that easy?
In a nutshell, yes! The Gay Publishing Company exists to review your drafts and manuscripts, provide editorial comment and guide you toward improvement, and publish your work for all the world to see. As explained on the writer's FAQ page, we are not a so-called vanity press; nor are we a POD publisher that charges up-front editing, design, publication, or marketing fees.

We do not guarantee to publish everyone. We do, however, guarantee a fair chance.
