The Gay Publishing Company is
an English-language publishing company that aims to satisfy the needs (well, at least some of them) of two audiences. First of all, we are a publishing outlet for authors all around the globe who have gay-themed leisure-intended literary writings to share. Second, we are a publishing house that solicits, promotes, and distributes reading material for folks who enjoy reading about gay life in the world—check out our magazine to see how we do that.
In serving these two audiences, we also plan to help the GLBT community in
relevant ways. As examples, two outreach programs will be initiated as funding allows: our author scholarship fund and our "Teaching Acceptance" program are both key components in our total mission.
Of course, we'll have some fun stuff, too, like our "Wacky Wiki Story" (or two), which we hope to introduce early in 2010. If you have any other ideas that you would like us to consider, please let us know.
And, exactly who is this "we"
that the site keeps alluding to? The "we" in The Gay Publishing Company is an amazingly small staff and an advisory board made up of novice and experienced authors and a variety of readers. The leader of the board is the one known as theGayEditor.
theGayEditor has more than a quarter century (though he's really not that old) of experience as an editor, researcher/fact-checker, ghostwriter; he has also served as a project manager or team member for an uncounted number of projects that resulted in audio programs, videos, and print publications of all sizes, budgets, and purposes.
theGayEditor is quite passionate about the growth and destiny of The Gay Publishing Company, a story that begins to be told on another page of this Web site with his explanation of why the world needs a gay publisher.
