Orlando, FL; September 20, 2007: The Gay Publishing Company is currently accepting submissions for a sample issue of its newsletter. A minimum of four pieces will be selected to make up the “free peek” issue.
“The content of these pieces will be pretty widely viewed,” according to editor Stephen Evans. “When a potential subscriber or a curious author visits our Web site, they will be invited to view a sample newsletter. Each of those visitors will see these four pieces—that’s a lot of free publicity for the writer.”
As soon as The Gay Publishing Company has gathered a wider selection of submitted stories, the sample newsletter will be phased out and replaced with a newsletter of current submissions. “But I don’t see that happening for a couple of months.”
To demonstrate a variety, Evans says The Gay Publishing Company is looking for four distinct types of materials that illustrate a range of potential:
1. a piece of flash fiction;
2. a first chapter of a novel or novella, any genre;
3. a short story; and
4. a first scene from a script.
Authors who submit the pieces that are used will receive a complimentary annual membership to the site. “As start-up paupers in the publishing industry, I’m afraid that’s all we can offer at this time!”
Submissions that are not chosen as pieces for the sample newsletter will be given priority in the process toward publication. “Our specialties include new and beginning writers, so everyone should feel comfortable in submitting.”
